Term 3 - Week 10

Leo received our class award today for showing ownership by making sure he is ready for each lesson and tidying up any area he has been working in (often before being aksed to).  Leo is also polite and always ready with a helping hand, go Leo!

Students are using a mix of books and the internet to research their own animal topic for their last piece of writing for the term.

Term 3 - Week 8

Ezme received our class award for being super-organised, she is always ready for each lesson, is quick to the mat, and makes sure she is packed up and ready to go at the end of the day.  Well done Ezme!
Our sprouts continued to grow, so it was time to tip them out and eat them!

Lego is very popular in Room 7 at the moment, some very cool creations and lots of kids working together, awesome!

It was a beautiful sunny Tuesday afternoon, did we stay in the classroom? No way!  It was time to play four square, soccer/football, netball and basketball, then off to the new parts of the playground that have just been built...good times!

Our sprouts have....sprouted, yes they have little shoots on them now...like a bunch of little green and white tadpoles...and soon they will be devoured by hungry students, yum!  Also some students have decided they would like to try growing their own sugrasnap peas so they have made little packets to take some home.  Look out for these buried and forgotten at the bottom of schoolbags.

Term 3 - Week 7

Sophie recieved our class award for the respect she shows teachers and students, Sophie treats others the way she would like to be treated, a good example for us all to follow.

This week we have been planting sugarsnap peas, the packet said plant in early spring so each student took turns getting them into the soil at a depth of 2.5cm, it also said they take 8 - 10 weeks to grow so we will add another photo when the shoots start to appear.

The Jellyfish reading group was scanning to find the important information in a non-fiction text, in this case they were making an informative poster each about polar bears.  We are also writing reports about animals.
