Lockdown Learning

Hi team, here are a few things to have a go at over the next couple of days.  Have fun!

Getting Active - Do the 'superheroes unite' dance that is on our 'websites we use' list on this blog (on the right).

Boggle

Make as many words as you can from the following letters. You can only use each letter once in each word but you can then use the same letter again in the next word.

     F   R   S    I

     A   T   B   L

     E   O  M  K

Lets Cook

Practise following a recipe.

Bake something or cook a family meal with a family member. This is a great opportunity to look at all the measurement skills that cooking or baking uses.

Helping hands

Help at home with two jobs you wouldn’t normally do, it might be vacuuming, feeding any pets, cleaning the car, setting the table for a meal, hanging out washing, taking the rubbish out, watering the garden. Also challenge yourself to keep your room extra tidy this week.

Maths

How many different ways can you make the number 12?

E.g  8 + 4 = 12.   or   17 – 5 = 12.  Maybe even _____ x _____ = 12

How many different ways can you make the number 20?

Spelling

Unscramble these words ( a bit of trial and error needed for this).

nowd     het    whne

koob    shcolo   nxte

aounrd  sith  evrey

toyad   hatt   yuo

neth   bceuase  tehy

Term 3 - Week 4

We had our ART ATTACK morning.  We looked at different stories and used art to represent these stories.  One focus was fables which are short stories, usually with animals as the characters, that have a message for us. An example was using playdoh models to represent the hare and the tortoise characters, and doing scratch art about the story 'how kiwi saved the forest'.  We also did plays using some of these stories, what a fun day!

Term 3 - Week 2

Jacob received our class award for showing whanaungatanga by helping others and for showing grit with tricky tasks.  Keep up the great work Jacob!

We are learning about measurement.  The students have been working with a buddy to measure different objects around the class.  Sometimes this has meant combining metres and centimetres, tricky!
